Servant Leadership

As followers of Jesus we recognize the primary role of a leader is to point themselves and others towards Jesus, not by wielding power, but by serving and bringing others along in service. Deacons and Elders are two key roles leaders in our church fill to demonstrate Christ-like servant leadership.

Elders

Be shepherds of God's flock that is under your care, serving as overseers- not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not greedy for money, but eager to serve; not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock (1 Peter 5:2-3).

Elders are given the authority and responsibility, along with pastors, to oversee the spiritual health of the congregation as well as the congregation's faithfulness to God's mission (ECO Polity 2.02).
